NM500 is a high-strength, wear-resistant / abrasion resistant steel plate specified in the Chinese national standard GB/T 24186. NM500 is known for its superior hardness and durability. This steel is specifically designed to withstand severe abrasive wear conditions to provide extended service life in challenging industrial environments.
Product Details
With a Brinell hardness range of 470-540 HBW, NM500 steel plate is widely used in applications where resistance to abrasion is the primary concern. Its wear resistance is significantly higher than that of ordinary structural steel, making it ideal for prolonging the service life of equipment in mining, construction, quarrying, and material handling. Common applications include: liners for mining truck beds, bulldozer blades, excavator buckets, chutes, hoppers, and various other wear parts.
NM500 plates are delivered in the quenched and tempered condition. Suitable cutting (plasma, laser), bending, and welding methods must be employed, with pre-heating required for welding to maintain its properties and prevent cracking.
